Since Spring 2011 local residents and visitors to Camden Arts Centre have been working with erect architecture and artist Ashley McCormick to explore the conditions of the wild edges of the Camden Arts Centre in order to develop interventions which will enable new ways of looking, learning and being in this space.
The installations
resulting from this engagement are now in place:
Looking On
draws the visitor into the wild space. It focuses on details but also slowly
connects the café level with the upper wilder level of the garden.
'Danger - Keep Out' re-appropriates the existing barriers to the wild edges,
changing the relationship between the visitor and the wild spaces into a more
ambiguous one.
The ‘Hide’ provides a space for seeing (hearing, smelling, touching) whilst unseen.
